Who me? Testify? Yeah, I'm busy...

We already know - very well - that lawyer-legislators can continue their cases automatically during a legislative session. While some object to that practice - since its ripe for abuse - others are looking to kill it.

Meanwhile, just now, the House very quietly approved a measure that would let them duck depositions and testimony in civil suits during a session. On a voice vote. No record vote - yet.

Record votes come on the second vote, which takes place today.

On one hand, the bill keeps lawmakers' enemies from trying to depose them all the time during the session just to be nuisances. On the other, it lets them put off lawsuits against them for another five months.

There was zero debate.
